POEknows – History
POEknows opened its doors in 1973, serving clients primarily in Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. Today, POEknows is proud to be the Mid-Atlantic region’s premier investigative reporting agency, now providing services for companies and locations across the country.
HOWARD C. LEVIN, PRESIDENT
Howard has been serving the multi-family housing industry since 1971, when, as chief operating officer and vice-president, he co-founded Apartment Owners Service Association. Since 1973, he has been the president of POEknows. Howard has served on the Board of Directors of the Home Builders Association of Maryland and served on the Board of Directors of that associations’ Apartment Builders and Owners Council (ABOC).
During his five years as its chairperson, the ABOC’s Education Committee was recognized nationally, four consecutive years, by the National Association of Home Builders; initially as the third best education committee and then as the NAHB’s number one multi-family education committee in the nation, three years in a row!
POEknows is a founding member of the Maryland Multi-Housing Association and Howard has served on its Board of Directors. He has served as the chairperson of the MMHA’s Education Committee. And, Howard continues to serve on MMHA’s Legislative Committee.
Howard conducts in-house training for clients on the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Resident Screening, Employment Screening and Applicant Selection Criteria.
DAMIAN LEVIN, VICE PRESIDENT
Damian has been with POEknows since 1997. He has served as MMHA’s Membership Committee Chairperson since 1998. During that time, MMHA has seen consistent growth in the number of owner/manager and associate members.
Damian has also served on the Board of Directors for MMHA since 2002, served Mid Atlantic Life Span’s Membership Committee in 2004, and served as president of Business Networking International (BNI local chapter) in 2006.
As an active member of SHRM’s Chesapeake Human Resources Association (CHRA), Damian served on the Spring Conference Committee, in 2014.
